What we believe matters because what we believe shapes how we live. At Faith Life Church, our faith is firmly grounded in the Bible, the inspired Word of God, and centered on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The following Statement of Faith summarizes the foundational truths that guide our teaching, direct our ministry, and unite us as a church family as we seek to know God, grow in faith, and fulfill His purpose for our lives.
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Holy men of God spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures are God's revelation to mankind and are our final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and conduct.
The Godhead
We believe there is one true and living God, eternally existent in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and one in essence.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He is Lord and Savior and will one day return for His Church.
Humanity and Salvation
We believe mankind was created in the image of God but became separated from God through sin. Salvation is God's free gift, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Every person must repent of sin, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and be born again to receive eternal life.
Water Baptism
We believe water baptism by immersion is an outward testimony of an inward work of grace. It identifies the believer with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection and is an act of obedience following salvation.
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift available to all believers. This experience empowers Christians for witness, service, and victorious living. We believe speaking in other tongues is the initial physical evidence of receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
The Gifts and Ministry of the Holy Spirit
We believe the gifts of the Spirit described in Scripture are active and available today. The Holy Spirit empowers believers, distributes spiritual gifts, guides the Church, and confirms the Gospel through His supernatural working.
Divine Healing
We believe divine healing was provided through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and is available for believers today. We believe God heals through the prayer of faith, the laying on of hands, and the operation of the Holy Spirit.
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ and consists of all who have been born again through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe God has established the local church as a spiritual family where believers worship, grow, serve, and fulfill their God-given purpose.
Christian Living
We believe every believer is called to live a life of holiness, love, integrity, and obedience to God's Word. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and renewing the mind with the word of God, Christians are being transformed into the image of Christ.
The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the catching away of believers, the future judgment of all mankind, and the establishment of Christ's eternal kingdom.
Eternal Destiny
We believe heaven is the eternal dwelling place of those who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We believe those who reject Christ remain separated from God and face eternal judgment.
Marriage, Family, and Human Life
We believe God created mankind male and female and instituted marriage as a covenant relationship between one man and one woman. We believe every human life is sacred and valuable from conception to natural death and is created in the image of God.
