"We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God himself. Our anchor of hope is fastened to the mercy seat in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold..." - Hebrews 6:19 TPT
Hope is a powerful force! It holds your soul stable in the midst of a storm. It is our supernatural connection to God and His throne of grace and mercy.
People today that are contemplating giving up and quitting have found themselves at the place of hopelessness. To be without hope is dreadful and depressing. A life without hope is drifting aimlessly and without purpose.
We can end up feeling hopeless if we place our hope in things that are changing, volatile and unstable. (I.e., the Government, medicine, doctors, lawyers, our jobs, our bank accounts, even the relationships that we have.) Any thing that you trust more than God is what you are putting your hope in.
The only person in the universe that is unmovable and unchangeable is God and only in Him should we place all of our hope at all times! "Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you." - Psalm 25:5 NLT
Hope and trust are connected. What you place your hope in is what you trust to a certain degree. And when you hope for a certain outcome based on a certain perceived promise, and it doesn't turn out the way that you hoped, you find out that your hope was misplaced.
The word of God says that hope deferred or delayed makes the heart sick (crushes the heart). So when we misplace our hope time and time again we become more and more disheartened. We begin to lose our will to trust and eventually end up hopeless and ready to quit.
Take a minute and ask yourself, "where is my hope? What do I have my hope in right now?". If your answer is that your hope is in anything other than God, the good news is that you can redirect and reposition your hope in God!
“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!” (Psalm 42:11, NLT)
Say this: Today I reposition my hope and my total trust in God. I use my hope as an anchor connected to Jesus to hold me steady. He is my hope and I am filled with hope because I am filled with God!
Pray this: Lord, I take inventory of my hope today. Show me where I have trusted in anything more than You. Help me by the power of Your Holy Spirit to reposition my total trust and all my hope in You. You are my rock and my strength! You are the only one that I can totally trust! In Jesus Name!
