Everyone wants to experience enormous results but very few people really want to change.
We naturally get set in our ways and become comfortable, content and down right stubborn when it comes to changing. But in this time of prayer and fasting, God is challenging us to first examine our hearts because change begins on the inside with the attitude.
"Brothers and sisters, in light of all I have shared with you about God’s mercies, I urge you to offer your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice to God, a sacred offering that brings Him pleasure; this is your reasonable, essential worship. 2 Do not allow this world to mold you in its own image. Instead, be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind. As a result, you will be able to discern what God wills and whatever God finds good, pleasing, and complete." Romans 12:1-2 (The Voice)
When we surrender our spirit, soul and body...(our soul is our mind, will and emotions) to God. Then we are entering the examination room. The examination room of God is where we see that we need to make changes. It is similar to going to the doctor when we know there is something physically wrong with us but we are not sure what it is.
We go to Jesus and give ourselves totally to Him, submitting to Him for a series of tests. Like when the nurse begins to take your vital measurements (temperature, blood pressure, weight, etc.) The Lord always performs an X-ray on our heart to see if we have any blockages, etc.
Then after He examines us, He gives us His consultation and diagnosis. He shows us things that we need to change and correct internally and externally.
The internal changes and adjustments that we make result in outward changes.
Our change comes when we stick to the "prescription" that Jesus gives us.
Often times He will give us His Word on forgiveness and ask us to forgive someone. When we act on this "prescription" the result is change in other areas in our lives.
I have seen it many times where someone will go to God in prayer, repent for a bad attitude and find out what God wants them to do from His word, then do it consistently and purposefully. The results will be enormous change in many areas of their lives which always brings abundant fruitfulness (the awesome blessings of God).
Changing is part of turning to God and turning away from what has held us back in the past. Let's go to the examination room of the Lord today and present ourselves to Him!
Say this: I will submit myself spirit, soul and body to be examined by God today. I will listen to His consultation and follow His prescription precisely and consistently. I expect to be changed from the inside out.
Pray this: Lord, I present myself totally to you. I hold nothing back. I want You to examine me in every area and consult with me. Show me where I need to change. I will take your correction and follow up on everything that You tell me to do. Thank You for speaking to me clearly about the changes that I need to make. I will stick with it and we will see great fruitfulness! In Jesus Name.
