Our culture’s growing dishonor toward people, institutions, and spiritual authority reveals a deeper loss of the fear of the Lord. Scripture teaches that honoring God includes respecting His appointed leaders and valuing what belongs to Him, even when we disagree or encounter human imperfection. In Numbers 12 the Lord corrected Aaron and Miriam when they spoke against Moses. In 1 Samuel 24 David walked in the fear of the Lord and respected the position of the King and refrained from killing King Saul. We are learning the fear of the Lord and what it means.
