Fear Cannot Produce Peace

Fear Cannot Produce Peace

Philippians 4:6-7  "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Wisdom Statement:  Fear agitates.  Wisdom prays.

Fear and peace cannot occupy the same place.  Fear fills the mind with questions, uncertainties and worst-case scenarios.  It continually searches for problems while offering no solutions.  God never intended for His children to carry the burdens that only He can bear.  Instead, He invites us to bring every care, concern, and challenge to Him in prayer.

A person of prayer is a wise person, because they acknowledge their dependence on God.  Rather than allowing fear to dominate our thoughts, wisdom turns every concern into a conversation with the Lord.  Notice that Paul didn’t say, “Stop worrying…” He told Believers to pray instead.  As we place our trust in God, His supernatural peace will begin to mount guard over our mind and hearts like a protective shield.

Peace is not the absence of problems;  It’s the presence of God’s assurance in the midst of them. The wise believer understands that prayer accomplishes far more than worry ever could.

Fear drains strength, but prayer releases faith.

Building Wisdom:  Worry talks to the problem. Prayer talks to God.

Prayer:  “Father, teach me to bring every concern to You in prayer. Help me resist anxiety and trust You with the things I cannot control. Let Your peace guard my heart and mind, and help me walk in confidence knowing that You are working on my behalf. In Jesus' Name, Amen.”

Declare:
"The peace of God guards my heart and mind."
