Treasure Hunters of Truth
Proverbs 2:1-10
My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands.
Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.
Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.
Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.
Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.
For the Lord grants wisdom!
From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just
and protects those who are faithful to him. Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go.
For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.
Wisdom does not fall casually into our lives, it’s pursued, it's received and it’s treasured.
Proverbs 2 opens with a condition; Responsibility is placed upon us. We must receive, we must value.
The golden wisdom of God is not found like gravel upon the road, just as precious jewel are not found above ground. To access God’s wisdom, we must approach and treat His Word as a priceless treasure. We must see the absolute infinite value of it.
As we intentionally turn our ear to His Words and aim our hearts toward Him, they will begin to shape us and mold us. We will find that our hearts are growing wiser and we’ll begin to see discernment working in our lives. As we position ourselves toward Him, divine clarity will come.
When God called Moses to come up to the burning bush, his full attention was on that burning bush….. Moses didn’t look around at all the other vegetation and greenery. He was focused on that bush, because the voice of God was coming from it.
Our natural mind can only comprehend a certain amount of information, but there is deeper and higher knowledge and revelation that will only come from the Holy Spirit.
No one has ever really struck oil or gold by accident; They were purposefully looking for it.
God’s wisdom builds the structure, but only those who seek it will possess it.
Personal Inventory:
Am I treasuring the Word or treating it casually?
Am I digging for revelation, or waiting for it to fall on the surface?
Or waiting for someone else to give it to me……?
