Wisdom Was Before The Beginning

Proverbs 8:22-30   NLT  “The Lord formed me from the beginning, before He created anything else.  I was appointed in ages past, at the very first before the earth began.  I was born before the oceans were created, before the springs bubbled forth their waters.  Before the mountains were formed, before the hills, I was born;  Before He had made the earth and fields and the first handfuls of soil.  I was there when He established the heavens, when He drew the horizon on the oceans.  I was there when He set the clouds above, when He established springs deep in the earth.  I was there when He set the limits of the seas, so they would not spread beyond their boundaries.  And when He marked off the earth’s foundations, I was the architect at His side.  I was His constant delight, rejoicing always in His presence.”  

Before there was a world, wisdom was.  Before there was light, land, mountains, oceans stars or man, wisdom already existed.  Wisdom did not appear after creation, Wisdom was present before creation.  Wisdom did not come from the earth;  Wisdom came from God.  In fact, Wisdom and God are one.  
 
Proverbs 8 shows us that Wisdom is not merely a “good idea”, a “personality trait”, or the ability to make wise choices.  Wisdom is rooted in the very nature of God Himself.  Wisdom has always been where God is, because God is wise.  Just as God and His Word are one, God and His Wisdom are never separated.  He has never acted apart from Wisdom.  He has never spoken apart from Wisdom. He has never built, created, led, corrected or directed apart from Wisdom.  
 
Wisdom was “inaugurated and ordained from everlasting.”  That means that wisdom is older than culture, older than opinions, older than trends, older than what society calls acceptable.  Wisdom existed before the world began and wisdom will still be true when everything else has passed away.  
 
The world changes it’s mind, people change their minds, but Wisdom never does.  When something is skewed long enough, it can begin to look normal.  But wisdom is the eternal plumb line.  It tells us what is straight, true, and right because it comes from the One Who never changes!  
 
Wisdom Statement:  Wisdom is not a human invention;  It is the Eternal nature of God revealed.
