Our Identity In Christ

Our Identity In Christ

Paul records a prayer in Ephesians 1:15-19 that the Spirit of God inspired him to pray for other Believers.  One of the things he prayed was that, “The God of our Lord Jesus Christ…. Would give them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.”

In other words, Paul was praying that the believers in the church at Ephesus would come into revelation knowledge, not just information, but spiritual insight of who they are in Christ Jesus.

Knowing who you are in Christ is the wisdom of God.

This kind of wisdom was not fully available under the First Covenant.  Solomon asked for wisdom and was granted it, yet he did not have the ability to know himself ‘in Christ’ because the work of the Cross had not yet been fulfilled.

But we on this side of the cross, praise God have access to that revelation!

The Wisdom of God reveals to us:
1.    Who we are in Christ Jesus
2.    What we have through Jesus
3.    What we can do through Christ Jesus

As we learn these truths and begin to exercise our rights and privileges in Christ, we are walking in the wisdom of God.  God comes to our aid by revealing our identity in Him;  Our authority, our resources, and the provision that has already been made for us.  Then by faith, we lay hold of that supply and call int manifestation with faith-filled words.

Wisdom Statement:  Wisdom is not merely knowing facts;  It’s living from our identity in Christ.  When we know who we are, we will boldly walk in what you have and confidently do what God has called us to do.
