We Need More Light

We Need More Light

In Ephesians 1:18, Paul prayed: “That the eyes of your understanding being enlightened….”

To some, this may sound unusual, but the truth is, our spirits have eyes.  They are spiritual eyes, yet they see more clearly than our natural every could.  Paul understood that in order for us to walk in wisdom, revelation, and true understanding, we must first see it in our spirit before it will ever transform our lives.

The intellect of man cannot fully grasp the spiritual truths the Holy Spirit desires to reveal.  These truths must be received by the spirit of man.  And once the reality of who we are in Christ dawns on our spirit, everything begins to shift, our perception, our thinking and ultimately our living.

The AMPC Bible says it this way:  “By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you….”

When a natural flood occurs, it moves and removes things from their place.  In the same way, when the light of God floods the eyes of our heart, it begins to wash out wrong thinking and uproot wrong believing.

  • Light displaces darkness
  • Truth corrects distortion
  • Revelation eliminates deception

When we begin to think right according o God’s Word, we will believe right, and when we believe right, fear, doubt, and anxiety lose their place and their voice in our lives.

Spiritual growth and maturity are not produced though human intellect.  They are imparted by the Holy Spirit as He unveils he truths of God’s Word to our spirit.

Wisdom Statement:  “When the light of God floods our heats, it drives out every false belief.  Seeing rightly produces right believing, and right believing produces a life established in Truth.”
