The Tongue Reveals The Heart

James 3:10  “Out of the same mouth come blessing and cursing;  These things my brethren, shouldn’t be so.”  
 
Eventually, our words reveal the true condition of our heart.  Matthew even talks about “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks…”.  (Matthew 12:34).

A heart filled with peace, humility and love will eventually speak life.  But a heart filled with irritation, pride, anger, resentment, bitterness and hurt will eventually expose itself through speech.  
 
It’s possible to praise God publicly while speaking harshly to people privately.  James challenges believers to live consistently, allowing their speech to reflect the nature of Christ.  
 
Wisdom does not merely clean up language externally;  It allows God to transform the heart internally.  
 
Wisdom Statement:  “What fills the heart will eventually flow through the mouth.”
