Fear Focuses On Lack

Fear Focuses On Lack

Psalm 23:1  “The Lord is my Shepherd;  I shall not want.”

Wisdom Statement:  Fear says there is not enough.  Faith says, “The Shepherd provides.”

Fear constantly worries about what is missing, but faith looks t the One who supplies every need.  David declared, “The Lord is my Shepherd;  I shall not want.”  A shepherd protects, guides, and provides for his sheep.  Sheep do not provide for themselves;  They depend upon the shepherd.  In the same way, Believers place their confidence in God’s ability rather than their own resources.  Wisdom does not deny needs, - It simply places confidence in God’s provision rather than in circumstances.  The Good Shepherd is faithful to lead, provide and care for His own.

Lack may be a fact, but it doesn’t not have to become our focus.  God’s resources are not limited by earthly circumstances or economic conditions.  Throughout Scripture, He provided manna in the wilderness, multiplied oil for the widow, and fed thousands with a few loaves and fish.  The same Shepherd Who cared for His people then is still caring for His people today.

Prayer:  “Father, thank You for being my Shepherd and Provider. Help me trust Your provision and rest in Your faithfulness. Teach me to keep my eyes on You rather than on what I lack. In Jesus' Name, Amen.”

Declare:  "The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want."
