Love Does Not Demand Mind Reading

Love Does Not Demand Mind Reading

I Corinthians 13:4-5  “Love is patient, love is kind… it is not self-seeking, it is not easily provoked…”

Colossians 3:12-14    “…put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another… and above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.”

One of the most unhealthy patterns in relationships is expecting people to interpret unspoken emotions, disappointments or expectations without communication.

Love doesn’t manipulate people through silence, withdrawal, moods, or emotional pressure.  Godly love communicates with humility and gives grace where there may simply be misunderstanding.

Sometimes people truly do not know they hurt you.  Sometimes they are unaware.  Sometimes they are carrying burdens we cannot see.

Yet when silent expectations remain unspoken it often causes people to measure others against standards that were never expressed.  True love communicates clearly instead of expecting others to read what was never spoken.

Love gives room for each other;  Love leaves space for clarification; Love believes the best before assuming the worst.  The enemy wants people isolated in offense, but wisdom chooses humility, conversation, forgiveness and understanding.

Not every disappointment is betrayal.  Not every oversight is rejection.  Not every misunderstanding is dishonor.   Many relationships could be strengthened if people stopped requiring other to “just know” and instead learned to communicate with grace and maturity.

Healthy relationships are not built by emotional guessing games…. They are built by truth, humility, patience forgiveness and love.

Wisdom statement:  “Love communicates clearly instead of punishing other for what was never expressed.”
