Fear Is NOT Wisdom

Fear Is NOT Wisdom

Proverbs 3:25-26  “Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;  For the Lord will be your confidence, and He will keep your foot from being caught.”

Fear will often disguise itself as caution, concern or eve preparation.  It whispers, “What about this, What about that…”  Fear focuses on what might go wrong.  God NEVER uses fear to prepare His children for anything!  (would you?).

Fear NEVER promises protection.  It actually steals our peace and ability to see clearly.  Fear has NEVER improved a situation, solved a problem or has led us into God’s best.

The Holy Spirit prepares us through wisdom, faith and divine direction.  Wisdom focuses on what God has said.  The Lord does not lead us by anxiety, dread, or torment.  He leads us through His Word and by His Spirit.  When fear attempts to masquerade as wisdom, remember that God’s guidance ALWAYS produces peace, confidence and clarity.

A wise builder does not construct a house upon fearful assumptions.  He builds upon truth.  Likewise we build strong lives by trusting God’s promises rather than entertaining fearful possibilities.  Wisdom asks, “What has God said?”  and then chooses to stand there.

Prayer:  “Father, help me recognize fear when it tries to disguise itself as wisdom. I refuse to give it a place in my thinking.  Teach me to trust Your Word above my feelings and circumstances.  Let Your peace guard my heart and mind as I build my life upon Your truth. In Jesus' Name, Amen.”
