Fear Looks For Escape

Fear Looks For Escape

Psalm 46:1-2  “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore, I will not fear…..”

Wisdom Statement:  Fear wants to run.  Faith learns to stand.

When pressure comes, fear immediately begins searching for the nearest exit.  It wants to quit, retreat, withdraw or abandon what God has said to do.  Fear assumes that leaving the situation, that will solve the problem. Yet many times, God’s answer is not to run but to face the “giant” and stand in faith and trust Him.

Throughout the Bible, God’s people faced moments when retreat seemed easier than obedience.  The Israelites stood at the Red Sea with nowhere to go.  Jehoshaphat faced an overwhelming army.  Paul endured many hardships, opposition and persecution.  In each situation, victory came through trusting God and remaining steadfast, not through panic or retreat.

Wisdom understands that temporary pressure doesn’t not necessarily mean we are on the wrong path.  Sometimes the greatest breakthroughs occur just beyond the point where fear tell us to quit.  Faith remains anchored in God’s promises even when circumstances become uncomfortable.  The believer who learns to stand in faith will discover God’s sustaining strength every time.

Building Wisdom:  Fear looks for a way out. Faith looks to God.

Prayer:   “Father, help me stand firm when challenges arise. Strengthen my heart to trust You when circumstances seem overwhelming. Teach me to remain steadfast in faith, knowing that You are my refuge, my strength, and my ever-present help in times of trouble. In Jesus' Name, Amen.”

Declare:
"God is my refuge and strength. I will stand firm in faith."
